Bargain Hunting Makes My World Go Round

I’ll be honest. If I walk into a store like Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, even Marshalls, basically any store… the first place I go is the sale section. I can’t help it. I think this tendency is a combination of how I was raised + my own history of getting lucky in the markdown marketplace. So yeah, I guess you could say I’m a budget friendly gal. If you’re running low on funds but need to spruce up your wardrobe, I might be able to help you out.

How to be Boujee on a Budget:

Worry less about where you are shopping, and more about what you are buying!

There are negative stigmas associated with shopping at certain stores. But it’s so, so silly. A person with a narrow and overly boujee mindset may never step foot in an Old Navy, for example. Well haha, jokes on that person because I have found some absolute gems at Old Navy. When you go into a store, whether it be Bloomingdales or Goodwill, have a wardrobe goal in mind, keep your eye on the prize. Maybe you’re looking for an oversized sweater or a graphic tee. You may be surprised to find that some of the greatest items are hidden in the most unexpected places.

Stylin’ sunnies

Sunglasses are an awesome accessory for both fashion and function. The trendier the style, the more quickly they go out of style. So if you’re interested in purchasing some cool new shades, make sure you get ‘em cheap.

I found a few trendy and inexpensive pairs that I think you’ll LOVE:

Cheap Tees

Graphic tees, plain white tees, they’re a wardrobe staple in my opinion. Some of the trendier retailers take advantage of this. There’s no need to pay $59.99 for a vintage wash band tee. I’ve discovered some of the best graphic tees simply by snooping through Amazon. A cool tee is a great way to up the trendiness of a casual outfit. And if you get ‘em cheap you don’t have to feel guilty about tossing ’em when they’re worn out. They pair perfectly with jeans, jean shorts, joggers, or maybe under a blazer… I mean there are just so many ways to wear these ’em.

Here are a few tees that I absolutely love. PS: Some of these are marketed for men. NBD! Slouchier fit for us ladies:

If you have nice things you don’t wear…

Sell! If you have big ticket items in your wardrobe that you haven’t worn, don’t really plan to wear and are only saving because of their monetary value, you should seriously consider selling. In fact, sites like poshmark are a great way to make some money on an item that was only taking up space in your closet.

New toy alert!

My fabric shaver is my wardrobe’s best friend. A fabric shaver safely removes fuzz, lint and pilling. This inexpensive tool will keep your knit pieces looking fresh and new. ~Magical~

I hope you find these tips useful, they certainly help me! It’s not easy to be boujee on a budget, but if you bargain hunt and always head straight to the sale section, you’ll definitely save a few bucks. Remember these tips and tricks next time you’re in the mood for a retail run.

Toodaloo for now…
