First and foremost, feminism is trendy because it’s important. Equality is a must and we’re not quite there yet. Tons of celebrities have publicly identified as feminists: Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Lena Dunham, Oprah, Emma Watson and the list goes on and on. Rihanna and A$AP Rocky recently sported a Dior T-shirt that read: “We Should All Be Feminists.” Here’s the shirt.

“We Should All Be Feminists” where the heck did that come from? These words are the title of a 2012 Ted talk given by vocal advocate Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. You go girl! Now that’s what I’m talking about #girlpower Check out her talk! 

Ever heard this line: “Be a man!” or this one “Women are so sensitive.” To heck with all that! Why should women be submissive and men be aggressive? Why can’t people be who they are, and that’s that. Well that’s just it, people CAN be who they are! This is the kind of equality we’re talking about.

Do you consider yourself a feminist? If you believe in human rights, individual rights and equality, then you might be! If not, that’s totally fine and we respect that. But remember, gender stereotypes affect everyone.
