hair dry shampoo

Once ya go dry shampoo you’ll never go back! (until you need to wash your hair for realzies)

I love dry shampoo. Washing your hair everyday really isn’t good for it, but after a day or two of not washing my hair tends to feel a little icky. I’m sure many of you can relate… I try to do a “real” shampoo every two or three days, and my dry shampoo absolutely saves me during my off days. Almost every company that sells shampoo/conditioner also sells a dry shampoo product. But just like shampoo and conditioner, not all dry shampoos are made equal.

So I’ve taken the liberty of trying a few different dry shampoos so that you don’t have to. What I’ve discovered is that my preference is more so about what the product lacks, rather than what it adds. Why? Because the whole purpose of dry shampoo is to make our hair feel less greasy, less oily, less nasty… not more of anything, except for maybe volume and texture. ~Whatevz

My (relatively inexpensive) Top Picks:

  1. Batiste Original Dry Shampoo

  1. Living Proof Perfect hair Day (PhD) Dry Shampoo

  1. Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo

  1. Dove Invigorating Dry Shampoo

  1. Herbal Essences Dry shampoo

These babies are my top five ride or die dry shampoos. I trust any of these products whole heartedly. However, if I reaaaaally had to choose I would go with Batiste. This seemingly vintage, pretty inexpensive formula is so easy to use, and it’s never once let me down. But I promise, I promise, the other four are great too. Different preferences for different hair, you know what I mean?

Dry shampoo is a staple in my beauty routine. I don’t use it every day but if I went a week without using it, let’s just say it’d be a frickin’ miracle.

REMEMBER: Dry shampoo does not actually clean your hair. Its only purpose is to help absorb the oily, icky, greasiness. However, it is a quick and convenient way to spruce up your hair, without water. Ain’t nobody got time for water…

Happy dry shampooing, XO!
