Woman applying mascara

All things are possible with coffee and mascara

My morning routine is entirely dependent on how many times I’ve hit snooze. Snoozing, ugh. Bad habit, I’m working on it. Snoozing means making sacrifices—some days I don’t have time to make a Martha Stewart style breakfast and I accept that. But there are two absolutely non-negotiable components to my morning routine—coffee and mascara. I call this my AM C&M. A good blend of java brings me to life and mascara visibly lifts my eyes out of the Zzz’s. Without my AM C&M I may as well be asleep.

I love C to death but let’s give M the spotlight for a sec. Mascara deserves a round of applause, it gives and gives and never expects anything in return. I know can always count on M to add a little drama to my look; gives my eyes that little bit of oomph. Finding the perfect mascara is virtually impossible, but if we’re talkin’ drugstore mascaras I think I’ve come pretty close…

Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Curve Alert Mascara

I originally purchased the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Curve Alert Mascara while on a hunt for inexpensive drugstore products. I wanted a few makeup items I could throw in my makeup bag for nights out, long days etc. Little did I know, this mascara would become an absolute staple in my daily makeup routine.

The Rimmel Scandal Eyes Curve Alert Mascara is one of my absolute favorites. The wand does a great job of separating the lashes and building volume. I love that this product actually curls my lashes unlike many of the other “curve” mascaras I’ve tried. I wouldn’t suggest this product in lieu of an eyelash curler, but if you’re looking for a little extra flare this mascara will do the trick. This product doesn’t dry very quickly, which is awesome and annoying at the same time.  Awesome for fixing accidental clumps; annoying if you’re in a rush and find yourself running around with wet lashes. I don’t mind waiting for it to dry when it goes on because I know it’ll last me all day, and taking it off at the end of the day is a piece of cake. I dab a bit of my Garnier Micellar Water onto a cotton swab and poof, it’s gone. ~Magical~

There are many things I could live without, mascara is not one of them. Oh, and obviously couldn’t live without coffee either… didn’t forget about you, C! If you’re in the market for an incredible yet inexpensive mascara then do yourself a favor and check out the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Curve Alert Mascara.
