Improve your skin from the inside out

We spend so much time and money trying to improve the appearance of our skin. Skincare products and makeup products, hours in front of the mirror contouring and agonizing over our appearances.  And sometimes after all that energy and effort we still look like cr*p. Looking good is an expensive and exhausting habit.  What if I told you it didn’t have to be?

Surprise! It doesn’t have to be. Improving your skin starts with analyzing your diet. Think of your skin as a reflection of your digestive system, and remember that next time you’re craving a Big Mac. You are what you eat, it’s that simple. If you wish your skin was brighter and more hydrated, maybe drinking more water could help. If you don’t want to have an oily face, try avoiding fried foods.  The ingredients in the products you consume are the same ingredients that your body will use to generate new skin. Feed your body what it needs, and your skin will give you what you want.

What we consume is equally as important as what we avoid consuming. Incorporating more fruits and vegetables into your diet is a wonderful thing, but it’s not everything. So, if you dip your strawberries in chocolate and layer your lettuce onto a cheeseburger, don’t come crying to me when your skin isn’t glowing. Start eating more of the good stuff and less of the edible garbage and your skin will improve dramatically.
