makeup remover micellar water

How do you remove your makeup?

The best and worst part of wearing makeup are the same for me—taking it off. Makeup removal is liberating and refreshing as heck, but OMG it is often tedious and irritating to my skin!

The difference between makeup removal and makeup remover for me is that I’ve always hated makeup remover products. Sorry not sorry, I’m so over it. To quote one of my favorite HBO characters, Hannah Horvath, “It’s really liberating to say no to shi*t you hate…” I hate the way it leaves my skin feeling oily, kind of dirty and visibly glossy. Standard makeup removers are annoying and imperfect. They do what they’re supposed to, but it’s not an enjoyable process for me. So I kinda just stopped using it—big beauty no no. Proper makeup removal is an important part of skincare health. For the longest time I was using my traditional face cleanser as a makeup remover. If I hadn’t done that for so long, maybe I’d have twice the amount of eyelashes and half the amount of skin dryness. Wasn’t a good idea, but I disliked traditional makeup remover so much that I risked the health of my skin.

Hey good news, the dog days are O V E R. I recently discovered Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water —a water-light cleansing and makeup removing product. Micellar water is the answer to my skincare prayers. It’s rare that I have no complaints about a product but here we are, not a con in sight! I have sensitive skin and have never run into any irritation with this product. It’s fragrance-free, gentle and so effective in removing oil, dirt and makeup. Garnier isn’t keeping any secrets. The packaging is totally transparent so you can see exactly what you’re getting. SkinActive Micellar Water does everything it’s meant to and it’s inexpensive. I actually look forward to using my micellar water, which is a nice addition to my previously dull skincare routine.

How do you use it?

  • + Dab your Garnier SkinActive Cleansing Micellar Water onto a cotton pad.
  • + Rub in gentle circular motions anywhere and everywhere around the face.
  • + Wash it off with a water-soluble cleanser.

This product is so wonderful that it may trick you into thinking a cotton pad is the only necessary part of the cleansing process. Nope, nope. Make sure to wash it off!

There are many micellar water products, but if you are looking for an inexpensive option the Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water is a great choice. TBH I recommend it to everyone under the sun.
