Mo’s Thoughts:
In a few words, how would you describe your personality?
Excitable, genuine and happy. I’m definitely a “heart-on-my-sleeve” kind of person.
How would you describe your style?
Very casual. I like to think of it as skater/surfer girl matured (but in truth, not that much). I pretty much live in my vans or converse. I wear a lot of shorts, hate wearing jewelry and accessories. My style is all about comfort. But I also think that’s why I love experimenting with makeup. I can be super casually dressed but a full face of glam can change everything
Where were you born?
I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. I think that’s had a lot of influence on how casual my style is.
When did you first become interested in vlogging?
I started vlogging in 2010 when I moved from Hawaii to Arizona for college. I was thousands of miles away from home, land-locked for the first time in my life with no friends. Vlogging was a way for me to make new friends, keep in touch with my old ones, and pass the time.
What’s your favorite thing about your town?
The sense of community in Tucson is incredible. It’s not a very big city so it’s easy to feel like you’re a part of a tight-knit community if you put yourself out there. The people here are very friendly and open minded.
Would you ever move to another city? State? Country?
Absolutely! I really want to live in Seattle or Portland. Maybe move to California. I’d consider moving out of country for a little bit. I’m open to new things.
What is the one thing you always have in your bag?
Chapstick. I can’t stand dry lips.
What is one product you absolutely can’t live without?
Kat Von D 24 Hour Super Brow Pomade. I recently discovered it and it’s amazing!
What does your everyday make-up routine consist of?
Foundation, Concealer, Brows, Contour, Highlight and a natural pair of lashes.
Who inspires you?
So many people do! I love LaurDIY & Weylie Hoang. It’s so inspiring for me to see women of color doing big amazing things for themselves while staying true to who they are. I also love seeing smaller people on the web who are genuine and passionate and creative, hustling and making moves. People who build communities and bring others together. Who aren’t just in it for them.
